Join Amanda Sage for a 2 day painting workshop at the Gunnison Arts Center!
Since 2010 Amanda has been teaching painting workshops around the world at various visionary hubs, festivals and retreat centers.
Amanda teaches a unique approach to an in-direct painting method known as the Mischtechnik.
Originally taught by Ernst Fuchs starting in the 60’s, this method of developing a painting refers to early renaissance techniques and is a valuable asset to any artist. Whether we have 5 weeks or 1 day, she will guide us into the development of an image that will lead our vision expanded forever.
Amanda studied the Mischtechnik with Michael Fuchs in 1997-9 in Austria, then went on to become a painting assistant to Ernst Fuchs for a decade. She has empowered 100’s of artists around the work to articulate inner visions and explore their own creativity.
This class is for beginners and experienced artists, as well as children 12+ with a parent.
We will be working on canvas with charcoal and acrylic paint.
Most materials will be included in the ticket price.

This is a step by step photo progression to show the development of a painting in this technique. We will be following a similar progression and you are welcome to consider your own composition or follow along with my demo! Start sketching and considering what you would like to paint. Remember we also only have 2 days, so keep your composition simple!
